Design a promo email for a new entertainment app.
Tap Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s entertainment vertical, developed a new mobile app guide highlighting Milwaukee nightlife. An email push was developed targeting local vendors for input about their businesses for inclusion in the app database. One requirement was to somehow display the app in a phone.
Headline font and color choices were based on the app interface. A photomontage was created using appropriate images that tied the city, nightlife and the app together. The montage was designed to lead the eye down the page to the branding. A screen capture of the interface was made and incorporated into a smart phone image. In the event that a recipients email client disabled graphics, text links and alt tags were used throughout the email HTML in order to lessen the dependency on graphics for the message.
