Goal

Redesign the website giving it an elegant look with easy navigation and can be easily updated.

Background

Grace-UCC is a contemporary church and member of the United Church of Christ. They were in need of an updated look that spoke to their worship style. The old design was dated and because it was hard to upkeep, wasn’t updated frequently. To better reach out to the community, they also wanted to incorporate social media and an email sign-up into the site.

Solution

An orange/gray palette with lots of white space in a 3-cloumn format was used. The design is light and airy, yet structured. The supplied images were placed as the main image of each section to showcase the church and it’s members. My role was designer, IA, and UI for the project. I worked closely with the developer to maintain the html and design integrity.

To make updates and management easy the site was built on WordPress and is responsive on multiple devices.

Some new features to the site included:
- Social media integration
- Email signup.
- An events page
